Beyond
The theme for this competition was 'Reflection'. They asked artist a question. 'What kind of relationship do we have with our nature?' and to give us a moment to think about the enviroment.

I researched the Mehndi/Henna magic which I also researched for my Pith Of Vanity project and used this as influence and inspiration to help spread the theme Reflection in the artwork. Each illustrations represents something,
Oruborus: The cycle of life and regenration
Scales: Justice and Balance
Skull: Use our time on earth with respect and purpose
Web: Progress in life and the consequences of our actions
Chain: Attachment and Connectivity
Concentric Circles: Flower of life and Evolution of humankind

This competition was in 2021 during the middle of COVID 19. The brief was to showcase a artwork in any media and medium of what we should think about after COVID. After being in lockdown for a while, I notice more nature and wild animals roaming the garden, seeing sheep on the streets and ocean life looking more lively. That is why I decided to photograph a new bloomed plant from the garden with the phrase 'It's A New Day' expressing a positive line of thought, after being placed in lockdown with extreme limited interaction with the ones we love and adjusting our lives to a confined space.
This competition was voted by the public. If your artwork was on page 1 you received the most votes, there were 10+ pages with multiple artworks on each page, and I am proud that my work was near the top of the third page by the end of the competition.
